Work Experience
I’m keen to offer young people from Folkestone and Hythe the opportunity to gain insight into the work of a busy Member of Parliament’s office. If you’re interested in politics, community work, or how Parliament operates, this short placement in my office provides a great introduction.
Placements are available throughout the year in my constituency office, giving you the chance to see how we help local residents, support community initiatives, and research national issues. You’ll meet the team, learn about casework, and see up close how Parliament connects with people’s everyday lives. There may also be the opportunity to attend Parliament depending on the Parliamentary calendar and staff availability.
If you’d like to take part, please send:
- A short letter explaining
- why you would like to do work experience in my office; and
- what skills or experience you could bring to the team.
- A copy of your CV, including your contact details and current place of study.
This is a great opportunity to understand how an MP’s office works and to contribute to our efforts supporting the local community.
Priority is given to young people living or studying in the Folkestone and Hythe constituency. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
Please email your letter and CV to [email protected] with the subject line “Work Experience Application”. We’ll be in touch to confirm receipt. We cannot guarantee that all work experience requests will be successful.
